What is intermittent fasting?


Dr Fung does a great job of explaining what fasting is and how many cultures have used fasting throughout history for health, spiritual and healing purposes. Fasting is a natural part of life. It is a tool in our health and wellness toolbox that we can use strategically to help us reach our fitness and nutrition goals. Always consult your doctor before doing any type of prolonged fasting.


There are several different methods of fasting. Some people like to stick to the 16 hour fast and eat all of their food within an 8 hour window. Some people like to fast for 24 hours at a time or even longer. The key is to have a consistent schedule you can stick to over a long period of time in order to see some of the amazing benefits of fasting. Anything over 12 hours of fasting is considered a good starting point. So pick a window of fasting that fits your schedule best and try it out!!
